The Prophet II (acrylic on canvas, 30 x 12, 2013)

The septych is based on Alexander Pushkin's famous poem called The Prophet. Each work is a visualization of certain lines from the poem. This is the second piece of the series. Here is the part of the poem it represents.

He laid his fingers on my eyes:

His touch lay soft as slumber lies,-

And like and eagle's, his crag shaken,

Did prophetic eyes awaken.
